Atlanta Spirit LLC's neon ownerships

-->
In March 2004, the team was sold to a group of executives by the name of Atlanta Spirit LLC by Time Warner (who inherited the Hawks and Braves upon its merger with Turner Broadcasting in 1996), along with the Atlanta Thrashers pro ice hockey team, with which the Hawks share the Philips Arena, which replaced the Omni. After the change in ownership the Hawks still struggled. In the 2004–05 season, the Hawks were the league's worst team with a mere 13 victories (five less than even the expansion Charlotte Bobcats and the struggling New Orleans Hornets). Despite their league-worst record, the Hawks only landed the number two pick in the 2005 NBA Draft (the first pick went to the Milwaukee Bucks). With the second pick, the Hawks selected Marvin Williams of the University of North Carolina. The previous year, the Hawks had drafted Josh Childress and Josh Smith. In the 2006 Draft, the Hawks selected former Duke star Shelden Williams with the fifth overall pick.

Cowboy Neon Sign:

A cowboy is an animal herder who tends cattle on ranches in North America, traditionally on horseback, and often performs a multitude of other ranchrelated tasks. The historic American cowboy of the late 19th century became a figure of special significance and legend. A subtype, called a wrangler, specifically tends the horses used to work cattle. In addition to ranch work, some cowboys work for or participate in rodeos. Cowgirls, first defined as such in the late 19th century, had a less-well documented historical role, but in the modern world have established the ability to work at virtually identical tasks and obtained considerable respect for their achievements. There are also cattle handlers in many other parts of the world, particularly South America and Australia, who perform work similar to the cowboy in their respective nations.

The cowboy has deep historic roots tracing back to Spain and the earliest settlers of the Americas. Over the centuries, differences in terrain, climate and the influence of cattle-handling traditions from multiple cultures created several distinct styles of equipment, clothing and animal handling. As the ever-practical cowboy adapted to the modern world, the cowboy's equipment and techniques also adapted to some degree, though many classic traditions are still preserved today.

Audi Logo Neon Clock 17:

The Audi badge the 'Four Rings' is the emblem of one of the oldest car manufacturer in Germany. It symbolizes the 1932 merger of the four independent motor-vehicle manufacturers: Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer. Mutually with the NSU brand, which joined in 1969, these companies are the roots of the present-day AUDI AG. After the war the Audi name - which is Latin for "Hear?" - left, but was revived in 1965, using the four rings as a logo. Also, the name is kind of a pun on 'hoerch', German for 'hear', name of one of the founders. The corporation itself is more than a century old. The four rings in the logo include nothing to do with the Olympic rings. The Audi logo is a registered trademark of the Audi Company.

Aries Constellation ZODIAC Neon Clock 17:

Aries is one of constellations of the zodiac, placed between Pisces to the west and Taurus to the east. Its name is Latin for ram, and its symbol is representing a ram's horns.

Aries has none of the brightest stars, so a little patience and determination is required to learn to locate it. Look to the east in the evening and find the dim clustered stars of the Pleiades and, under them, the companion cluster in a "V" shape, the Hyades. The bright reddish star at the end of the "V" is Aldebaron, brightest star in Taurus, the Bull. Let Aldebaron be the start of an arc and extend it on through the Pleiades (it is about one clenched fist at arm's length between Aldebaron and the Pleiades). Keep on going about 25 degrees (two clenched fists at arms length) where the two brightest stars of Aries, secure together (two finger-widths at arms length apart), will form the West End of the arc. Notice the dimmer star situated just beyond the second star of the pair in Aries; let this dim star form the very tip of the arc we have described. Now, back along the arc, about midway between the Pleiades and the brightest star of Aries, there is still another very dim star belonging to Aries. The four stars you have found, two of them significantly brighter than the others, are all there is to see of Aries without optical aid.

American Flag Neon Clock 17:

The U.S. flag has undergone many changes since the first official flag of 1777. On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress passed the first Flag Act, which said that the flag would be made up of thirteen alternating red and white stripes and thirteen white stars on a blue field. Stars have been added to the flag as new states join the union. Currently, the flag contains 50 stars.

Ever wonder why the flag is red, white, and blue? While the flag's colors did not have a specific meaning at the time, the colors were significant for the Great Seal of 1782.

* White: Signifies purity and innocence
* Red: Signifies valor and bravery
* Blue: Signifies Vigilance, perseverance, and justice

Aquarium Neon Signs:

An aquarium is a particularly designed device that acts as an artificial habitat for water-dwelling animals. Though most people associate an aquarium with tropical fish, aquaria can also be used to house amphibians or large marine mammals. In addition, many aquaria contain a range of plant species.

Public aquaria are popular tourist attractions throughout the world and normally found in zoos or marine parks. They are made from reinforced concrete and plastics to create a tank that is large sufficient to hold an entire underwater ecosystem.

Most public aquaria can be considered biotopes, ecotypes, or ecotopes since they house plants, fish, and invertebrates that would only live mutually in a natural habitat. Sharks and whales are some of the most common species found in public aquaria, Though otters, penguins, and other semi-aquatic animals are often quite popular. An aquarium that is designed to seize dolphins is called a dolphinarium.

Neon Bulbs:

While all cities have differences, the one thing that most cities have in common is bright lights. Drive down any active city street at night, and you are apt to see bright neon lights and signs of all color in business windows. These signs draw awareness to the business, as well as the products and services they offer.

Different incandescent bulbs, which use electricity to heat a filament until it glows, neon lights use electricity to produce light directly. How is this done? By energizing atoms of gas or vapor so that they provide light. That is why neon lights are also sometimes well-known as electric discharge or vapor lights.

In 1675, the neon lighting occurrence was discovered somewhat by mistake by French astronomer Jean Picard, who noticed that a mercury barometer tube would give off a bit of light if it was shaken up. Why did this happen? When the tube was shaken, it produced static electricity which charged the mercury vapor atoms in the tube, causing them to create light.

Neon open sign nearly two centuries later, when this concept was better understood, German glassblower Heinrich Geissler intentionally produced neon light when he filled a glass tube with gas and gave it an electrical charge. Afterward, it was shown that neon light could be made in many different colors depending upon the type of gas used in the tube. For instance, mercury gas gives off blue light, while carbon dioxide gives off white light, helium gas gives off gold light, and neon gas gives off red light.

The first neon tube light was made by Frenchman George Claude in 1910, while the first neon light used to present was a sign made for Paris' Palace Hairdresser. The first neon sign in America, which cost $24,000, was used to publicize the Packard auto dealership in Los Angeles.

Today, neon lighting, also called cold cathode lighting, is mainly often seen in commercial signs. It is luxurious, and it operates at a very high voltage. Neon lighting is rarely used in homes, though it is sometimes placed behind moldings to produce interesting architectural effects

Neon lights:

The neon sign lights are bright on Broadway, but those neon lights are vanishing (fading), quick. The neon sign lights was the modern light of the 20th century, and the LED is the tech of the near the beginning 21st. But as neon sign is not likely to contain a large amount of a future in widespread function, it will likely forever contain retro-cool appeal, in addition to a place of pride in the range of the glass blowers art.
Therefore what accurately is neon sign lights? The idea of revealing a gas by means of a discharge dates back even previous to the detection of electrical energy, at what time it was observed that mercury would shine in a barometric tube at what time shaken. In the middle of 1800’s, by the creation of electrical generator, scientists begin experimenting by apply electrical energy discharges to a variety of gases inside of preserved glass tubes, called geissler tubes, after their discoverer, German physicist Heinrich Geissler.

Neon Signs Shedding:

The mercury vapour and noble gases are not simply added the tubes of lighting. The Nitrogen produces a somewhat pinker burn than argon, oxygen glow violet-lavender but dimly. Hydrogen glows violet at low level of current, other than pink magenta over 10 milliamps, as carbon dioxide produces a small bluish-white. Mercury is able to be complete to burn in the ultraviolet, in addition to is used in supposed black lights. Sodium vapour on short level force glows the bright yellow of road lighting, mainly in England. In addition to, even water vapour produces a burn like to hydrogen, simply dimmer.

Making a Neon Sign

Neon SignsHollow glass tubes used to make neon lamps come in 4, 5 and 8 ft lengths. To shape the tubes, the glass is heated by lit gas and forced air. Several compositions of glass are used depending on the country and supplier. What is called 'Soft' glass has compositions including lead glass, soda-lime glass, and barium glass. "Hard" glass in the borosilicate family is also used. Depending on the glass composition, the working range of glass is from 1600' F to over 2200'F. The temperature of the air-gas flame depending on the fuel and ratio, is approximately 3000'F using propane gas.

Neon LightsThe tubes are scored while cold with a file and then snapped apart while hot. Then the artisan creates the angle and curve combinations. When the tubing is finished, the tube most be processed. This process varies depending on country; the procedure is called "bombarding" in the US. The tube is partial evacuated of air. Next, it is short circuited with high voltage current until the tube reaches a temperature of 550 F. Then the tube is evacuated again until it reaches a vacuum of 10-3 torr. Argon or neon is back filled to a specific pressure depending on the diameter of the tube and sealed off. In the case of an argon-filled tube, additional steps are taken for the injection of mercury; typically, 10-40ul depending on tube length and climate it is to operate in.

neon LampsRed is the color neon gas produces, neon gas glows with its characteristic red light even at atmospheric pressure. There are now more than 150 colors possible; almost every color other than red is produced using argon, mercury and phosphor. Neon tubes actually refer to all positive-column discharge lamps, regardless of the gas filling. The colors in order of discovery were blue, white, gold, red, and then different colors from phosphor-coated tubes. The mercury spectrum is rich in ultraviolet light which in turn excites a phosphor coating on the inside of the tube to glow. Phosphors are available in most any pastel colors.
